Your goal is light, quick, easy to prepare meals. But try the food before you take it backpacking. The worst time to find out you don't like something is when you're tired, hungry, and that's all you brought! Also make sure to bring everything required to prepare the meal.

And bring special treats (chocolate, booze..) to reward yourself for just being there!
